Don't like Chickpeas? Try Pea Hummus



This enhanced version of hummus brings out the freshness of the peas while incorporating the zing of garlic and the creaminess of tahini. The addition of herbs and lemon juice adds a delightful burst of flavor, taking this dip to the next level. Enjoy this pea hummus as a snack or a vibrant appetizer, and let its wholesome goodness nourish your taste buds.


Ingredients:

  • 1 bag (or 3 1/2 cups) organic frozen peas

  • 3 garlic cloves

  • 1/2 cup tahini

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 cup chopped parsley or cilantro

  • 1-3 tablespoons water (as needed for desired consistency)

  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine the thawed frozen peas (or fresh peas) along with the garlic cloves, tahini, olive oil, chopped parsley or cilantro.

  2. Blend the mixture until smooth and creamy, adding water gradually as needed to achieve the desired consistency.

  3. Taste the hummus and adjust the flavor by adding more lemon juice, salt, or pepper to your liking.

  4. Transfer the pea hummus to a serving bowl and garnish with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of fresh herbs.
